In-home lessons
The music teacher drives. You don't.
The reason Southern California families quit music lessons is almost never the lessons. It is the drive. A weekly commitment that looked fine in August becomes a 4:45pm crawl down Beach Boulevard in November, and by January somebody has quietly stopped booking. In-home instruction removes the part that fails.

What actually changes when the teacher comes to you
The obvious thing is forty minutes of driving you get back every week. The less obvious one matters more: the student learns on the instrument they will practise on for the next seven days. A piano student who takes lessons on a studio grand and practises on an unweighted keyboard at home is effectively learning two instruments. Teaching in the room where practice happens means the instructor can fix the bench height, move the keyboard away from the television, and see for themselves why the practice is not happening.
How it works practically
Your instructor arrives at a standing weekly time and brings what the lesson needs — their own instrument, method books, a practice pad, a tuner. You provide the student's instrument, a chair, and somewhere reasonably quiet. For students under 18, a parent or guardian stays in the home for the duration of every lesson. Every instructor is screened and background-checked before they are matched with a student.
Which instruments work well at home
Guitar, ukulele, bass, piano, violin and voice all teach beautifully in a living room. Drums are the honest exception: they work at home if there is a kit or an electronic kit already there, and they work on a practice pad if there is not, but a student who is serious about kit playing will eventually want time on a full setup. We will tell you straight rather than sell you a lesson format that will not serve the student.
Where we travel
In-home lessons run across Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego County, with no travel fee inside our core service areas. Outside those, a travel fee may apply and we will tell you the number before you commit to anything. If your city is not on the list, ask anyway — our roster changes as instructors join.
What we teach
Eight instruments, one roster.
Piano & Keys
The clearest map of how music is built. Classical, pop and contemporary, with reading and ear training taught side by side.
Drums & Percussion
Groove, independence and reading. We can start on a practice pad or an electronic kit if a full setup isn't realistic at home yet.
Violin & Strings
Posture and tone first. Suzuki-friendly, school-orchestra aligned, and open to fiddle and film-score repertoire when that's the motivation.
Voice
Breath support, pitch, range and stamina — plus the practical nerve it takes to sing in front of an audition panel or a room.
Bass
Time, tone and the pocket. The most employable instrument in any band and the fastest route into playing with other people.
Ukulele
Four strings, soft nylon, and a real song on day one. The gentlest first instrument we teach, and a favourite with adult beginners.
Band & Ensemble
Small-group play-alongs for students already taking lessons. Counting someone else in is a different skill from playing alone.

If the first pairing doesn't work, tell us in the first month and we'll find a different instructor at no charge.

Before you enquire.
Is there an extra charge for in-home lessons?
Not inside our core service areas. Further out, a travel fee may apply, and we will quote it clearly with your instructor match rather than adding it later.
Does a parent need to be home?
Yes. For any student under 18, a parent or guardian stays in the home for the whole lesson. This is policy, not a preference.
What if our house is noisy or we don't have a good space?
Most homes are fine. A corner of a living room with a chair and no television on is genuinely enough. Your instructor will tell you if something about the setup is working against the student.
What happens if the instructor is stuck in traffic?
They will contact you directly, and the lesson is either extended, rescheduled or credited. You do not lose a lesson because of our logistics.
